The Artistic Camp
Youth, Art, and Social Questions
Art helps us reflect on and assess social values by creating mental spaces for critique, growth, and experimentation. That’s why it’s essential to encourage young people to engage in the arts — to elevate their tastes and enrich their imagination.
As part of its ongoing work with youth, and in partnership with the Association for the Development of Childhood and Youth, Gorara organized an artistic camp centered around art and social topics.
The goal of this camp was to create a space for learning and experimentation by connecting young people’s artistic interests to social issues, and by producing creative works that reflect their concerns and aspirations.
